Only allowing five clay saucers to land safely on the Caribou Gun Club turf, junior Nick Simonette once again led the Clipper trap team on Wednesday, the second competition week.

Of the 36 active shooters, 15 improved their score from the first competition a week ago. The average score was just over 30, up a fraction. Conditions on the range were near perfect.

Equaling his effort from last week, seventh grader Jake Mueller had the second highest score with a 43. Breaking apart 42 clays, eighth grader Brunson Gibbs (above) improved his score from last week by nine points. Judd Gibbs also shot a 42.

Kaden Schmidt connected with 40 targets. With 38s were Chase Bock, Henry Boelter and Colton Tousley. Boelter bettered his last-week score by eight points.

Breaking up 36 discs were Cole Stocker, Max Esser, Reid Knish and Gabe Sullivan. Upping his score by a dozen points to a 35, Aiden Giese improved the most from a week ago.

Dylan Zimmerman grounded 34 targets. Jeremy Miller, Blake Gibbs, Blake Stocker and Adam Seeman all shot 33s. Gibbs improved his score from a week ago by seven points.

Marshall Heldberg shot a 32. Derek Miller shot a 31. With a 30, Kendra Zimmerman was the top female shooter.

Gauge Bock scored a 30. John Ritchie and Tony Hollerich each scored a 29. Greyson Tomaszewski scored a 28. Uriah Hoheisel scored a 27. Austin Anderley scored a 26.

Hitting half of the targets were Zayden Linder and Tyler Smith. Abigail Osness and Chase Roemhildt each shot a 23. Osness improved her score from last week by five points. Roemhildt upped his by six.

Charlie Maxfield and Nolan Schlaak each scored a 22. With an 11-point improvement from last week, seventh grader Lucas Kortuem shot a 19. Scoring a 14, Steve Giebel also had a big improvement from last week: eight better. Carter Kern hit a dozen targets, and Olivia Reinhardt hit 10.
