Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s turned the scoreboard over as they beat the varsity Clippers 101-44 at Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday.

On Friday, the Clippers fell 68-26 to Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther in Northrop.

Halftime score at Bethany was 51-18.

With seven points in the first half and another 10 in the second, Blake Lyons led the effort.

Jorden Rossow (above) had seven points, all in the first half. Gabe Sullivan and Carson Lyons each had six points, all in the second half. Kyle Connor had a pair of first half baskets for four points. Kale Kelley had a second half basket and free throw for three points. Bode Bartell made a second half free throw for one point.

Blake Lyons and Rossow each made a three. The Clippers made 50 percent of their eight free shots. The Knights put in nine threes and were six for fourteen from the foul line.

Against GHEC/T/ML, Carson Lyons, Blake Lyons Kelley and Connor each had a basket in the first half. The other three Clipper points before the break came on free shots, and the Jaguars took a 38-11 lead into the locker room.

The Lyons brothers each posted a pair of baskets from the floor in the second half. The other 11 Clipper points came from foul shooting.

The Clippers had no threes and were 10 of 27 from the foul line. The Jaguars had six threes and were four of eight in free throw shooting.

Blake Lyons totaled nine points, one more than his brother. Kelley had four points, all coming in the first half. Connor and Jordan Schmidt each had two points. Schmidt’s were free throws in the second half. Bartell made a second half free throw.

The varsity boys host Nicollet tonight (Tuesday). It was a close game earlier in the season.
