Alex Johnson works the baseline

Allowing over 30 steals in a 77-15 loss to visiting Janesville-Waldorf Pemberton on Monday, the B boys need to install an alarm system on their offense.

With six swipes already under their collars, the Bulldogs were up 15-zip before Nathan Seeman got the Clippers on the board with a bucket from behind the arc.

From there, it was steal city with an Alex Johnson free shot the only other basket the Clippers could muster in the half, and they trailed 41-4 at the break.

With few chances to get a play in motion, the Clippers couldn’t get off the ground in the second half either. Gavin Karels put in a free shot, and later Johnson made a basket from the corner, but the Bulldogs had 70 points by then.

Later, Johnson hit a three, Karels made two more free shots, and Nathan Strobel closed the game with a basket from triple territory.

The Clippers had one basket from the floor (Johnson), three triples (Seeman, Johnson, Strobel) and made half of their eight free shots. For practice, or for fun, JWP put in seven threes and, with the Clippers only committing one infraction, didn’t go to the foul line ever.

The B boys will look to lock up the ball better on Tuesday when they close out their season with a trip to Le Sueur.
