Crossing the finish line in 5:48.79, Savannah Meyer came in second place in the 1600 during the Janesville meet on Thursday. The winning time among the dozen runners was 5:37.46.

The Crusader girls took fifth place in the eight-team event. With twice as many points as Loyola/Cleveland, the host Bulldogs ran away with the meet.

Earning firsts for the Crusader girls were Kylie Kolars for a 15-4.25 long jump and Raegan Tiegs for a 37-3.5 triple jump. Maddie Hurias won both the 300-m hurdles (52.07) and 100-m hurdles (19.03).

In fifth place among, but with a couple less points, the Crusader boys were up a notch from the girls' ranking. Maple River team took first.

The 4x200 team of Josh Kann, Henry Strobel, Nick Huisken and Simon Morgan finished second with a time of 1:41.92. The winning time among the seven teams was 1:36.80.

Also running the 200 solo race, Strobel’s 26.63 finish (above) put him in 13th place. The winning time was 23.79

Competing against 25 runners, Nathan Strobel was 10th in the 1600 (5:26.67) and 5th in the 800 (2:25.17).

TJ Waldron took 12th in the 1600 (5:38.03), and Elijah Mons was 10th in the 800 (2:31.51).

The winning time in the 1600 was 4:51.05, and the winning time in the 800 was 2:06.35.

Thayne Remiger long jumped 16-04 for 18th place and high jumped 5-02 for ninth place. The  longest jump was 22-07, and the highest jump was 6-00.  

With a 17.76 finish in the 110m hurdles, Simon Morgan earned the only first place for the Crusader boys.

Also for the Crusader girls, Lauren Yenish was just behind Hurias in the 100 hurdles with a 19.79 finish and was fourth in the 300 hurdles with a 56.78. Kolars was third in the high jump (4-08). The 4x800 team of Teya Waagner, Molly Koester, Lilly Mock and Lilly Phillips finished in 12:55.90 for third place.

Also for the Crusader boys, Kyle Zimmerman was ninth in the 400 (1:01.18), and James Younge was 13th (1:03-09). Alvaro Castellanos was sixth in the 800 (2:25.27), and Carter Zimmerman was eighth (2:28.24). Soren Kelley was third in the 1600 (2:54.88), and Corbin Deichman was sixth (5:14.57). Casey Fogal was fourth in the 110 hurdles (19.22). Chase Kijenski was third in the 300 hurdles (48:20).

The Crusader 4x400 team of Huisken, Sam Vetter, Kyle Zimmerman and Younge was third (3:55.50). The 4x800 team of Younge, Deichman, Carter Zimmerman and Vetter was second (9:33.33).

Huiskin was fourth in the pole vault (10-00). Christian Barker was 17th in the shot put (32-11) and sixth in the discus (96-01).

The Crusader varsity boys and girls will return to the track today (Tuesday) in a meet at Lake Crystal.
