Although conditions at the Caribou Gun Club on Wednesday were cold and a bit rainy at times, the Clipper trap team upped its average score to 34.4, 4.3 points better than a week earlier.

Of the 43 shooters, 32 improved from the first competition week.

Just missing three targets, senior Martin Gibbs and sophomore Noah Hermel paced the Clippers. Cooper Arnold and Nathan Seeman each dropped 45 clays.

Gabe Sullivan and Riley Kriha each shot a 43. Brunson Gibbs shot a 42. Knocking down 40 discs were Urijah Hoheisel, Reid Knish, Tanner Simonette and his older brother Nick Simonette.

Hoheisel (above), just a sixth grader, had the biggest improvement from a week ago, up 19 points.

Cole Stocker, Tanyon Hoheisel, Judd Gibbs, Jake Mueller and Kaden Schmidt all scored a 39. With 38s were Dakota Alitz, Gauge Bock and his older brother Chase Bock.

Caleb Possin broke up 37 targets, 16 more than last week. Adam Seeman scored a 36, and Jeremy Miller and Blake Gibbs each hit 34 clays.

Henry Boelter shot a 33. Colton Tousley, Zayden Linder, Max Esser and Dylan Zimmerman each scored a 32. Derek Miller posted a 31. Greyson Tomaszewski and Austin Anderley each had 30s.

Marshall Heldberg scored a 29, 16 hits better than a week ago. Aiden Giese also had a 29. John Ritchie scored a 26. Kayla Bauer and Charlie Maxfield each scored a 25, Alex Johnson and Kendra Zimmerman each scored a 23, and Mason Kluntz hit 20 targets.

Abigail Osness shot a 19 as did Jarret Thoms. Zander Hoechst hit 16 targets while Dylan Thompson scored an 8.
