Trap shooters

Calm and bright skies at the Caribou Gun Club made for ideal shooting weather for the Cleveland trap team on Wednesday.

Of the 39 who participated, 23 had a better score than a week ago, and the mean score was up about 2 points.

“We could not ask for better weather,” said coach Parker Bonogofsky. “The scores are consistent and very good. They also show the kids have been out here shooting for three weeks now.”

Leading the Clippers with 46s in competition week three were freshman Judd Gibbs and sophomore Reid Knish. For both, it was their best effort of the season.

Cooper Arnold and Martin Gibbs each hit 44 targets. Chase Bock and Gabe Sullivan scored a 43. With 42s were Dakota Alitz, Kaden Schmidt and Nick Simonette.

Max Esser, Cole Stocker and Noah Hermel each broke apart 41 clays. For Esser, it was his best score this spring and an eight-point improvement over a week ago.

Colton Tousley and Riley Kriha each hit 40 targets. Urijah Hoheisel shot a 39. Caleb Possin, Tanyon Hoheisel and Tanner Simonette all scored a 38. Henry Boelter, Adam Seeman and Brunson Gibbs each scored a 37.

Gauge Bock and Nathan Seeman each broke up 36 clay discs. With 34s were Austin Anderley, Derek Miller, Jeremy Miller and Jake Mueller.

In their best efforts this season, Kayla Bauer and Grayson Tomaszewski each shot a 32. Zayden Linder also hit 32 targets.

Upping his score by 11 points to a 31, Mason Kluntz had the largest improvement from last week. John Ritchie and Charlie Maxfield also shot down 31. Aiden Giese and Dylan Zimmerman each scored 30. Kendra Zimmerman shot a 28, and Jarret Thoms shot a 27.

With a 25, Abigail Osness also had a personal best for the year. Marshall Heldberg scored a 24.

Sophomore Reid Knish was one of two Clippers with a 46, the best score for the week.

With a 41, freshman Max Esser had his best score of the season.

Eighth grader Cole Stocker fired a 41.

Shooting down 40 clays, eighth grader Colton Tousley improved his best score of the season by eight points.

Gauge Bock shot a 36.

Abigail Osness had her best score so far with a 25.

Mason Kuntz improved the most from last week to shoot a 31.
