With 22 girls participating in 10U summer softball, in order to get them all enough playing time, they separated into two teams.

At the start of the season, players were evaluated on their hitting, catching, fielding and throwing, said Tracee Sandhurst, who was a coach of one of the teams.

“The goal was to split the teams as evenly as possible to give both teams a chance to learn and grow as the season progressed.”

But the two came together during tournaments to compete as one full Cleveland team, most recently at state, where we took 4th place in the tier 9 bracket in Buffalo. The only two games that the Clippers lost came to the teams that placed 1st and 2nd in the bracket, and each game they only lost by one run.

Both 10U teams closed out their season on July 12, Team Sandhurst against host St. Peter and Team (Misty) Voit against visiting Waseca.
