Kiptyn Coon touchdown run

Randolph came to town and defeated the junior high boys 24-6 on Monday. The scoring scenario was like the varsity game in Randolph three days earlier.

With a touchdown run and a PAT pass, the Rockets went in front 8-0 in the first quarter.

The Clipper defense regrouped though and held off any scoring for most of the rest of the game, but with a pick six from the Cleveland 15 and another successful PAT pass, Randolph led 16-0 in the third quarter.

Later in Q3, Kiptyn Coon legged 20 yards to the Randolph 5 and then took another Jonathan Cink handoff in for the only Cleveland touchdown (above). Cink, a sixth grader, was in his first JH game behind center.

But the Rockets scored again with a minute left in the final frame to put the finishing touches on a 24-6 triumph.

The Clippers were coming off a 36-28 loss to host Le Sueur-Henderson the Thursday before. On Tuesday, the junior high Clippers fell in a close battle, 12-8 in Norwood.

They will host Tri-City United on Monday.
