With volleyball and softball too, the fifth and sixth-grade girls had a busy fall.
The girls first combined and then split into two teams for volleyball. Their season consisted of four Saturday mornings playing two or three games against teams from around the area and then an end-of-the-year tournament in St. Peter.
Both volleyball teams had a very competitive season, said April Thompson, who, along with Nancy Heldberg, coached the Clippers.
The 12U fall softball team’s season consisted of four Sundays of double headers along with a state tournament, which was held in Shakopee on September 24. There, the girls won the consolation championship.
