Cassidy Block looks at parols

Scents, shirts and sweets… bouquets, bird houses and blankets…jewelry, rugs and towels…lots of holiday décor.

Some 35 vendors offered their wares at the third FFA craft fair, which was held in the new gym on Saturday.

At 10 am, an hour into the fair, a sizable crowd of shoppers was already on hand.

“I think this is the biggest year yet,” said junior Chloe Haack, who spearheaded the project.

Lunch concessions were served in the commons, kids could make ornaments, color and mix up reindeer food. Santa dropped in for a visit, and director Erik Hermanson’s Holiday Jazz band performed a set in the commons.

The FFA will use the money the event raised to fund its trips and contests.

The gym had booths in the center and all the way around its perimeter.

From hoops and charms, junior Savannah Meyer assembled earrings and sold them for $10 each. The money she raised will help fund an FFA trip to Ireland.

Seventh grader August Keltgen had 10 cedar birdhouses for sale, some complete with Christmas lights and a wreath. It took him and his dad six and a half hours to make them.

Ameilia Haack as well as her sister, aunt and cousins made these table ornaments.
