Snow Week court

With temps in the mid 30s and only remnants of snow still hanging around, this year’s Snow Week could have rebranded as a spring fling.

Nevertheless, it kicked off on Monday morning with a royalty coronation in the old gym.

Co-emcee Maya Lassiter crowned senior Madison Peterson the Snow Week queen. Co-emcee Carter Kern presented the king scepter to junior Brennan Kortuem.

Lassiter crowned sophomore Vivian Hilfer baroness. Kern awarded the baron scepter to freshman Carson Lyons.

Lassiter crowned eighth grader Aubrey Blaschko princess. Kern bestowed the prince scepter upon seventh grader Tony Hollerich.

Other queen candidates were juniors Sophie Perkins, Ariel Murphy and senior Madysen Seely. Other king candidates were junior Jackson Bowen, and seniors Cameron Leighter and Gabriel Sullivan.

Other baroness candidates were sophomore Samantha Baker and freshmen Kaitlyn Flowers and Liviana Lee. Other baron candidates were sophomores Max Esser and Kaysn Zuehlke and freshman Tanner Simonette.

Other princess candidates were seventh graders Mattea Grandaw and Clara Hilfer and eighth grader Jocelyn Kortuem. Other prince candidates were seventh grader Nolan Schlaak and eighth graders Miles Tomaszewski and Zander Linder.

The high school student body voted all candidates into the coronation.

Snow week features dress-up days and activities. Today is Jersey Day and seventh graders will take on eighth graders in volleyball during SOS.

Tuesday’s dress-up theme is BBQ Dads vs. Soccer Moms, and the freshmen will compete against sophomores in SOS volleyball.

Wednesday’s dress-up theme is On Wednesdays We Wear Pink, and juniors will take on seniors in SOS volleyball.

Thursday’s dress theme is Rhyme Without Reason, and the Monday volleyball winners will compete against Tuesday’s winning team. The winner of that round will take on the juniors.

Friday’s theme is Class Colors: seventh graders  – tie dye; eighth graders – purple; freshmen – red; sophomores – black & white; juniors – blue; seniors – camo; and staff – orange. Seniors will take on staff in SOS volleyball.
