Kaitlyn Flowers with ball

Hanging on this time after the break, the Clipper B squad girls easily downed Le Sueur-Henderson in Le Sueur on Friday.

Kaitlyn Flowers (above) scored the game’s first basket. Taylor McCabe followed up with basket, and Taylor Wolf made a free throw and a basket for a 7-0 Clipper lead before the Giants scored twice.

McCabe responded with a three and went on to hit another three and a shot from the floor as well as three free shots in the half. Flowers put in jumper and stole and drove the floor for a layup, Valentina Rohlfing hauled in an offensive rebound and put it back up from the baseline for a basket, and the Clippers were up front 24-4 at halftime.

After Samantha Baker took an Olivia Reinhardt assist in for a layup, Keira Schipper took over the second half with 10 points. Flowers, Wolf and Rohlfing each added a free throw while the defense limited LSH to just another 4 points.

McCabe scored 13 points in one half played. Schipper had 10 points. Flowers added seven points. Wolf and Rohlfing each had three points, and Baker scored two points.

The Clippers put in a pair of threes and were seven of 16 from the foul line. The Giants tossed up five free throws, but none went in.

The B girls will look to make it two in a row when Madelia comes to town tonight (Tuesday). Before that game, at 4:30, the C-Squad takes on Tri-City United.
