Mollie Bowman drive

Madelia didn’t give the B-Squad girls a ton of trouble on Monday when the host Clippers made it two in a row with a 39-17 triumph.

The Blackhawks managed to get on the scoreboard first, but Taylor McCabe put in a two and a three, Mollie Bowman (above) stole and drove from shore to shore for a layup. McCabe echoed Bowman, Kaitlyn Flowers plunked in a basket, and the Clippers were up 11-2.

After another Flowers bucket and a pair of McCabe free baskets, Taylor Wolf clutched an offensive rebound and scored. With two more baskets from Bowman, the Clippers were in front 21-11 at the break.

Bowman scored inside for the first basket after the intermission. Entering the game in the second half, Keira Schipper quickly got down to business with a three and went on to put in three more baskets from the floor.

Flowers, Wolf and Samantha Baker added a basket, and Baker made a free throw, and the Clippers cha cha’d to the triumph.

Both in one half played, McCabe and Schipper each scored nine points. Bowman totaled eight points, and Flowers contributed six points. Wolf had a basket in each half for four points, and Baker chipped in three points.

The Clippers put in two threes and were three of 13 from the foul line. Madelia dropped in one three and made two of three foul shots.

The B-Squad girls are back in action tonight (Thursday) when Faribault Bethlehem Academy comes to town.
