Kaitlyn Flowers fast break

Closing out their season, the B girls fell to visiting Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 57-27 on February 13.

The Bulldogs pulled down an offensive rebound and scored and followed up with a quick steal and bucket for the game’s first four points. Taylor McCabe’s basket put the Clippers on the board, but the Bulldogs hit a pair of freebies and scored again after another O rebound.

Mollie Bowman spun a McCabe pass in for two, and McCabe poked in a three not long after, but the Bulldogs led 12-7.

After McCabe drove for a bucket and made the ensuing free shot, the Bulldogs went on a 9-point spurt to lead 24-10. Ava Kluntz broke up the run with a free shot, but a Kaitlyn Flowers basket and another McCabe basket was all the Clippers could muster the rest of the half, and, after a couple of JWP threes to close out the frame, they trailed 36-15 at the intermission.

Keira Schipper put in a three for the first Clipper basket of the second half and followed it up with a two-pointer. McCabe put in a shot from the floor, and Schipper made a free throw. After McCabe scored again, Valentina Rohlfing made a free throw and layup for the last Clipper points.

McCabe totaled 14 points in the effort. Schipper had six points in one half played. Rohlfing totaled three points. Flowers had two points. Bowman had two points in one half played. Kluntz chipped in a point.

The Clippers made two threes and four of 18 foul shots. JWP made four threes and seven of 13 free throws.
