Jake Mueller shooting

With rounds of 23 and 24, eighth grader Jake Mueller (above) led the Clipper trap team in week two competition, which was held at the Caribou Gun Club on Wednesday.

Although the Clippers had to deal with wind, especially early on, the 32.7 team average (mean) was just a tenth lower than last week’s average.

Mueller’s classmate Gauge Bock shot a 45 and, knocking down 13 more targets than a week ago, also had the largest improvement.

Marshall Heldberg shot a 43, a dozen hits better than his score from last week. John Ritchie also shot a 43 as did Blake Stocker.

Chase Bock, Aiden Giese and Cole Stocker each connected with 42 targets. Urijah Hoheisel shot a 39. Tony Hollerich splattered 38 targets, and Austin Anderley scored a 38. Last week’s leader, Colton Tousley, scored a 36.

Both with a 33s, Kendra Zimmerman and Deandra Doerr were the top shooters among the five females on the team. Chase Roemhildt also broke up 33 discs.

With 32s were Kayla Bauer, Ethan Lloyd, Graham Reinhardt, Olivia Reinhardt and Nolan Schlaak. For Lloyd, it was an improvement of a dozen over last week.

Brunson Gibbs and Carter Kern each scored a 30. Ben Traxler scored a 28, Steve Giebel scored a 27, and Brayden Seeman scored a 24.

With 23s were Henry Boelter and Sawyer Roemhildt. Tyler Smith shot a 22 while Brennon Holicky scored a 21. Brock Pugh hit 15 targets. Upping her last week’s score by eight, Jacquelyn Heldberg shot a 14.

On the range at the same time as the Clippers, Dylan Zimmerman (CHS 2024), is now a member of the newly-formed Gustavus Adolphus College trap team. Beside him is his sister Kendra.
