While elementary students showcased their voices in the new gym during the spring concert on May 19, across from the stage and in the commons, their artwork was also on display.
The art show was coordinated by art teacher Bre Roberts.
Ceramics included flower pinch pots made by second graders, coil pots formed by third graders, bobblehead sculptures made by fourth graders, animal and creature effigy containers made by fifth graders and whimsical figures crafted by sixth graders.
The students worked on the ceramic pieces starting in late March.
“Fourth quarter is all clay,” said Roberts, who has a kiln in her classroom. “It’s something they look forward to all year.”
In the commons were watercolors painted by first and second graders.
A large wings display, composed of paper feathers made by students in first through sixth grade and made for posing in front of, was on the wall near the gym entrance. Students could decorate their feathers however they wanted, Roberts said.
