Made up mostly of to-be sixth graders, the 12 U team, coached by Tracee Sandhurst, Heidi Wobbrock, Bree Hoffmann and Bob Bosse, won both halves of a double header against visiting Blue Earth Area on Tuesday.

The triumphs up the Clippers’ record to 17-6.

In game one, the Clippers scored one run in each of the first, second and third innings before bursting for the five-run quota in the fifth. BEA managed a couple of runs in the top of the fifth for an 8-2 final.

The Clippers continued where they left off in game two with five runs in the first, second and third while holding BEA scoreless for a 15-0 landslide in three innings.

Lexi Wobbrock singled in the first inning of game one, stole second and scored after a pair of runaway pitches. Mia Eisel led off the second inning with a single, advanced to second on a wild pitch, to third on a Kennedy Dauk ground out and home on another wild pitch. Leading off the third, Breanna Bosse hit into an infield error to reach second base. She crossed the plate on a pair of wild pitches.

Adli Hoisington led off the fourth with a walk. Addie Sandhurst, filling in from the 14U team, followed up with a single, and Hoisington scored on a Wobbrock single. Bosse singled to score Addie Sandhurst, Addy Hoffmann doubled for two more RBIs before scoring on a Kenzie Sandhurst groundout for the Clippers’ final run.

BEAs pair of runs came on a walk, a hit batter and a single to load the bases. With two outs, one run scored on a wild pitch, and the other came in on a double before the game ended on a lineout.

The Clippers outhit BEA 8-2. Hoffmann had a single and a double and two RBIs. Wobbrock hit a pair of singles and batted in one run. Bosse had a single and an RBI. Eisel, Arbor Linder and Addie Sandhurst all collected a single. Kenzie Sandhurst had one RBI. The Clippers walked three times and only struck out once.

Wobbrock tossed all five innings. She whiffed seven and rang up another batter looking. She gave up three walks and beaned one. The Clippers marooned five runners on base. Each team committed a pair of errors.

The Clippers outhit BEA 8-1 in game two. Addi Sandhurst had a single and a triple and four RBIs. Dauk had a single and a double and two RBIs. Hoffmann had a single and one RBI. Linder, and Hoisington each had a single and one RBI. Wobbrock hit into an error to score a runner, and Eisel grounded out for an RBI.

The Clippers never struck out, walked eight times and got hit by a pitch twice. They left no one on base.

Bosse tossed all three innings. She struck out six, half of them looking and walked none. The Clippers stranded one BEA runner.

The U12 sixth graders return to action tomorrow when they rematch BEA in Blue Earth.
