It was another win for the C girls on Tuesday as they toppled host Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 2-0.
Down 21-18 in game one, the Bulldogs deadlocked the game at 21 but errored on the next four points, and the Clippers won 25-21.
Jessilyn Milnes swung for a winner for the first point of game two. Hadley Thompson followed with a service ace but her next serve landed out of bounds. The two teams traded the next seven points with a Thompson kill putting the Clippers in front 6-4.
Amelia Baker served a winner, and Brooke Bosse found a chunk of open JWP real estate and pushed the ball on it for an 8-4 Clipper advantage.
The Clippers suffered through several errors, and the Bulldogs dropped an ace serve, but with another Thompson kill and a Joanna Jordan shove for a winner, the Clippers led 11-8.
The Bulldogs let a Milnes serve drop to the floor for the next Clipper winner and a 15-10 lead. Her next serve was out, but Bosse flipped on her radar again, found another empty slot and parked the ball in it for a point. With a Baker ace serve, the Clippers led 17-11.
JWP capitalized on Clipper errors and a service ace to pull within three, 18-15, but Jordan broke up the rally with a kill, and Emma Kortuem’s kill put the Clippers in front 23-16.
The Bulldogs assembled a couple of kills down the stretch, and the Clippers got caught in the net, but the game ended 25-20 on a JWP error.
The C girls, now 2-0, return to action on Tuesday with a road trip to Lake Crystal.
