CRV tryout flyer

Tryouts start tomorrow for Clipper Rising Voices, a new select choir for elementary students in grades 3-5.

  • Tuesday, 9/9 – Interested 5th grade students during SOS

  • Wednesday, 9/10 – Interested 4th grade students during SOS

  • Thursday, 9/11 – Interested 3rd grade students during SOS

There is no need for students to sign up. They can just show up to the choir room and be prepared to sing in front of their peers.

Clipper Rising Voices unites Cleveland elementary students in grades 3-5 for choral performances throughout the school year. Rehearsals, which will be held two to three times a week, take place during SOS (last hour). Members must maintain passing grades.

The choir is directed by elementary music specialist Lacee Johnson.

Although a school activity, Clipper Rising Voices is not funded by the school (not by taxpayer money) but rather by a small activity fee and the generosity of its amazing sponsors, which so far include Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, Tweeten’s Once Stop, the Cleveland American Legion, the Clipper Booster Club and Cleveland Fire and Rescue.

For more information about Clipper Rising Voices, please contact Lace Johnson. You can also find much more information about the new choir on the Clipper Rising Voices Facebook page.

A performance schedule will be included as performances are established, but plans are for the group to sing during the two large concerts, at the elementary Veterans Day program, during Music in the Schools week, at Grandparents’ Day, off campus at in senior living homes and perhaps caroling during the holiday season and performing the National Anthem at sporting events.
