With a 51-43 win over visiting Nicollet on Friday, the C boys are off to a 2-0 start this season.

Pierce Lyons ran in a layup for the game’s first basket. Creidin Lee bagged a three, and Jeremy Miller added a free shot for a 6-0 Clipper start.

Later, the Raiders spurted for six-straight points to deadlock the game at 11, but Luke Kortuem drove the baseline and scored and followed it with a three. Brayden Seeman canned a three to top off an eight-point run for a 19-11 Clipper advantage.

As the half drew to a close, Seeman ran in a layup, but the Raiders replied with a pair of buckets and only trailed by two, 21-19, at the half.

With a three and a two, the Raiders took a brief 24-23 lead early in the second half, but Miller took a Lyons pass in for a layup, and Lyons scored the next three Clipper baskets for a 31-24 Clipper advantage.

Nicollet responded with a basket, but after Jake Mueller scored from under the rim, Kortuem sacked back-to-back threes to put the Clippers in front 39-26.

Later in the half, Nicollet added a trio of threes, but with baskets by Kortuem, Miller, Seeman and Lyons, the Clippers held on for the win.

With 13 points, including a trio of threes, Kortuem led the effort. Lyons added a dozen points as did Miller. Seeman contributed nine points, including one three. Lee also put in a three. Mueller chipped in a bucket.

The Clippers were successful in eight of 18 foul shots. Nicollet made five three-point baskets and six of 10 foul shots.

The C Clippers return to action today (Monday) when they road trip to Mankato Loyola.
