After suffering their first loss of the season at Granada on December 16, the C Clipper boys picked up a home win over Le Sueur-Henderson three days later before finishing 2025 with a home loss to Kenyon-Wanamingo in the middle school gym on Tuesday.
Kenyon-Wanamingo 48, Cleveland 37
The Clippers trailed 34-21 at the break but pulled within a basket in the second half.
Jake Mueller put in three baskets from the floor in the first half and one in the second for eight points. Creidin Lee made a three and a two in the second half for five total points. Jeremy Miller put in a basket and a free throw in the first half and two free shots in the second half for five total points. Brayden Seeman put in two first-half baskets for four total points. Luke Kortuem scored two second-half baskets for four points. Pierce Lyons put in a first-half basket. Up from the eighth-grade team for their second game on C squad, Tyler Smith had three points, and Bray Lassiter made four points.
The Clippers made four of six foul shots. The Knights made four threes, three more than the Clippers, and were two of five in foul shooting.
Cleveland 36, LSH 25
Spreading their points among six players, the Clippers were in front 18-15 at the break.
No Clipper hit double figures, but eight of the nine players scored. Lyons had eight points, including one three. Mueller and Miller each totaled six points. Kortuem contributed five points. Lee had five points including a three. Up from the eighth-grade team for their first time on the C-squad roster, Smith, Lassiter and Jonathan Cink each chipped in a bucket.
The Clippers were four of six in free throw shooting. The Giants put in three of 10 foul shots and didn’t make a basket from behind the arc.
GHEC/T/ML 50, Cleveland 35
Kortuem put in a pair of twos and a three, Miller put added a pair of twos and a free basket, and Zander Linder buried a three, but the Jaguars used a balanced offense to lead 20-15 at the half.
After the break, the Clippers couldn’t put a stop to one player, who scored 14 points, and the Jaguars rolled to the win.
With a dozen points, Kortuem led the effort. Linder had eight points. Both put in a pair of threes. Miller had seven points. Zayden Linder had six points, all in the second half. Lee added a basket in the second half.
The Clippers were three of nine from the foul line. The Jags made three threes and five of 11 foul shots.
The C Clippers return to action on Saturday, January 3 when they travel to Waterville for a 1:15 p.m. game.
