Waseca’s rebounding and defensive pressure were too much for the B girls last night (Friday), and they fell to the host Bluejays 31-14.

Ava Kluntz took a Valentina Rohlfing inside bounce pass up from the paint for the only Clipper basket in the first half. Meanwhile, Waseca’s 6-0 freshman scored six of the Bluejays’ dozen first-half points before leaving the game at the break.

The Bluejays bagged back-to-back threes to start the second half. En route to eight points, Natalie Flowers put an in-bounds pass up and in for a bucket and, after the Bluejays added three more points, assisted a Taylor Wolf layup and made a quick steal under the Clipper rim and put it up for a bucket.

Later, Rohlfing sunk a running jump shot, and Flowers rebounded and scored and put in a couple of free throws, but that was it for the Clipper offense, and the Bluejays, strong on the steal, cruised to the victory.

The Clippers were just two of 13 from the foul line and scoreless from behind the arc. The Bluejays made seven of 16 free baskets and two three pointers.

The B Clippers are back in action today (Saturday) when they travel to Waseca for a 4:15 contest.
