After a pair of rough outings to start 2026, including loss in Waterville the Saturday before, the B squad girls picked up their second victory of the season when they beat host LeSueur-Henderson 23-14.
Valentina Rohlfing went to the line right away to shoot a reporting error technical and made the first of two foul shots. Later, she made the second of a set, and with a Natalie Flowers layup, the Clippers were in front 4-0.
The Giants came up with a couple of inside basket to even the score, but Allie Anderson took a Flowers pass in for a bucket, and Rohlfing dashed through the paint for another, and, the Clippers led the low-scoring affair 8-4 at halftime.
The Giants came up with the first basket after the break, but Gretchen Heldberg sunk a pair of free shots, and Rohlfing assisted an Anderson bucket to extend the Clipper lead.
The Giants scored again, but Rohlfing stole and drove from shore-to-shore for a layup and a 14-8 Clipper advantage. From there, Flowers stole at half court and ran in a layup, Taylor Wolf dropped in a shot from outside, and Flowers cashed in on an Anderson steal and assist in for a bucket before she buried a three to put an exclamation mark on the triumph.
Flowers totaled nine points and made the game’s only basket from three-point country. Rohlfing contributed six points. Anderson put in a basket in each half for four total points. Heldberg and Wolf each added a bucket.
The Clippers were four of 11 from the foul line. The Giants made two of 14 foul shots.
