Concluding a five-game road stand, the B Clipper girls fell in Arlington to Sibley East 48-30 on Friday. The Clippers were coming off a loss at Alden 24 hours earlier.
Plagued by turnovers, the Clippers were down 13-0 before they finally got on the board when Valentina Rohlfing assisted a Cecelia Gair hook shot for two points.
A Rohlfing basket accounted for the only other Clipper points from the floor in the first half. Hadley Thompson made four free shots, Ava Kluntz made three, and Gair added one, and the Clippers trailed 30-12 at the break.
Posting 18 points, the Clippers played even with the Knights in the second half, but it wasn’t enough.
With seven points, all from the foul line, Thompson led the effort. Rohlfing had five points, including the Clippers’ only three. Gretchen Heldberg also contributed five points. Taylor Wolf and Gair each made a basket and a free throw for three total points. Kluntz put in a trio of freebies. Allie Anderson and Natalie Flowers each had a second-half basket.
The Clippers made half of their 26 foul shots. The Wolverines were 16 of 30 from the foul line and dumped in a pair of threes.

Capitalizing on a couple of steals, the Knights put in the first two baskets. Flowers stole twice and ran in a layup after both, but the Knights put in a jumper and an interior basket to lead 8-4 and never lost the lead after.
Rohlfing assisted a Thompson three. After a Heldberg free basket, Rohlfing bagged a jumper to deadlock the game at 10, but the Knights went to the lane three times after and put in three attempts.
Kluntz sunk a layup, but with a steal and a layup, the Knights finished the half like they started, and they went into the locker room leading 15-12.
While Rohlfing, who sat out most of the game, picked up her fourth infraction early in the second half, the Knights, with back-to-back threes in their mix, scored 10 of the first 13 points after the break. The Clippers’ came on an Anderson shot from a distance and a Wolf free shot.
Later, Anderson drove the baseline for a bucket, and she and Thompson each buried a basket from three-point country, but it wasn’t enough, and the Knights, who sunk one more three, held on for the win.
With seven points, all in the second half, Anderson led the effort. Thompson had six points. Flowers contributed four points. Rohlfing and Kluntz each put in a basket. Heldberg made a free shot in each half. Wolf put in a free shot.
The Clippers made a lackluster three of 14 free shots. The Knights put in two three-point shots and four of 14 foul shots.
Back at home after the 1-4 road stand, the B girls return to action tonight when they take on Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther.
