After a 35-30 win in Lester Prairie on Monday, the C-squad boys are 4-6 in 2026.

The Clippers led the Bulldogs 22-16 at the half.

Luke Kortuem had nine points, including one three. Jake Mueller made two baskets in each half for eight total points. Pierce Lyons had three two-point baskets in the first half for six total points. Creidin Lee made a basket in each half. Jeremy Miller scored three points, all in the second half. Eighth grader Tyler Smith put in a three-point basket. Eighth grader Bray Lassiter chipped in a first-half basket in the first half.

The Clippers were one of nine from the foul line. The Bulldogs missed their only free shot and made four threes, two more than the Clippers.

Sibley East 40, Cleveland 27

The Clippers were trailing host Sibley East a dozen to zero on January 30 before Miller’s two-basket with six and a half minutes left in the first half. Kortuem and Brayden Seeman each added eight points from there, and with a Mueller freebie, the Clippers narrowed their deficit to six points, 17-11, at the break.

With a Lyons free throw and baskets from Miller and Mueller, the Clippers scored the first six points of the second half. The Wolverines responded with a basket, but Miller put in a free shot and Seeman bagged a three for a 20-19 Clipper advantage.

But the Wolverines pounded in three layups and dropped in a couple of outside shots for an 10-point run. Mueller finally stopped the rally when he pulled down a rebound and put it back up for a basket, but Sibley added five more points.

Lee made a three-point basket and a pair of free throws down the stretch, but it was too little to late, and with a couple more inside buckets, the Wolverines cruised to a victory.

No Clipper hit double figures. Seeman put in a pair of twos and a three for seven points. Lee, Mueller and Miller each added five points. Kortuem had two baskets in the first half. Lyons put in a free shot.

The Clippers shot a lackluster five of 15 from the foul line. The Wolverines didn’t make a three-point basket and made eight of 18 free throws.

GHEC/T/ML 36, Cleveland 24

The Jaguars posted the first six points. Mueller took a Lyons assist up and in from the baseline for the Clippers first basket. After baskets by Miller, Lee and Kortuem and a pair of Lassiter free throws, the Clippers trailed by five, 15-10 at halftime.

Muller fought his way to the hoop for the first basket of the second half. Lee buried a three, and with a basket from Seeman at the 11:30 mark, the Clippers deadlocked the score 17-17.

But the Jaguars quickly got back in front with a three and, never losing the lead again, scored 16 out of the next 23 points.

Kortuem totaled six points. Lee had five points, including the Clippers’ only three. Mueller had a basket in each half for four total points. Miller had three points. Seeman, Smith and Lassiter all posted two points.

The Clippers made three of six foul shots. The Jags also had one three and made three of 11 free shots.

Cleveland 45, Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons 30

Behind a pair of threes by both Kortuem and Smith, the Clippers led host Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons 18-11 at the break on January 26.

They both went on to score 11 points. Smith buried one more three. Lee added six points. Lassiter, Miller and Lyons each contributed five points. Eighth grader Jonathan Cink made a basket in the second half.

The Clippers totaled five threes and were four of nine from the foul line while the Knights made one three and five of 10 foul shots.

Cleveland win over Loyola

On January 2, the C Clippers beat visiting Mankato Loyola in the old gym. No book was kept.

Nicollet 47, Cleveland 32

In Nicollet court on January 20, the Clippers were in front 11-6 when the Raiders put in a basket from the baseline and then hit back-to-back-to-back threes to go in front 17-11. They scored twice more before Seeman made the last basket of the half, and the Clippers went into the locker room trailing 21-13.

Seeman made a two-point basket, and Kortuem scored from three-point range for the first five points of the second half. Later, Lee dropped in a three, but with five baskets from behind the arc, the Raider kept the pressure on for the win.

Seeman had eight points in the effort. Lassiter totaled seven points. Kortuem had six points, all in the second half. Lee had five points. Lyons had four points. Miller made a free throw in each half.

The Raiders totaled eight threes, six more than the Clippers, and made five of six foul shots.

Madelia 53, Cleveland 31

With the Clippers off target, Visiting Madelia went on a 12-point run to lead 31-13 at the half on January 15. The Clippers only scored 11 points from the floor in the second half, and the Blackhawks rolled to the win.

Mueller had nine points. Seeman and Lyons each added five points. Miller had four points. Smith made the Clippers’ only three. Lee and Cink each made a basket. Kortuem put in a free throw.

The Clippers were six of 20 from the foul line. The Blackhawks made seven threes and four of 12 free throws.

Cleveland 45, Martin County West 42

Kortuem sank a three, and Lee made two insurance free throws for the Clippers’ final five points in Sherburn on January 12. The Clippers were ahead 19-16 at the half.

Lee led the Clippers with a dozen points, half of them from three-point land. Miller had eight points. Kortuem scored seven points. Mueller had four points. Smith and Lassiter each made a basket in the second half.

The Clippers made three threes and four of 13 free throws while the Mavericks put in five threes and three of 19 free throws.

Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s 56, Cleveland 35

The visiting Knights led the Clippers 23-14 at the half.

With 13 points, Lyons led the Clipper effort. Seeman made two second-half threes for six total points. Kortuem put in the Clippers’ other three and also totaled six points. Mueller had five points. Lassiter added four points.

The Clippers made four of nine free throws. The Knights made eight three-point baskets and two of nine free throws.

WEM 49, Cleveland 48

With some B squanders in the lineup, the Clippers fell by a point in Waterville on January 3. They trailed 30-28 at the half.

Luke Kortuem put in 17 points in the first half, nine of them from behind the arc and totaled 19 points. Mueller had 10 points, eight of them in the second half. Seeman had five points, including a three. Lee had five points, including a three. Killian Kunkel had four points, and Miller added three points.

The Clippers were seven of 26 from the foul line. The bucks made three threes and 10 of 16 free throws.

The C Clippers will host Martin County West tomorrow (Friday).
