With a 26-15 win over visiting Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons, the junior high girls closed out their home season on a high note.

The Clippers pulled down an offensive rebound that set up a Kenzie Kortuem drive for the game’s first basket. Lily McMillen stole and ran the ball all the way down court and in for a layup for the second.

The Knights put in a bucket to get on the board, but Harley Samuelson took a Kortuem assist in for a basket from the baseline. After Kylie Wobbrock sunk the back end of a pair of foul shots, the Clippers led 7-2.

The Knights scored again, but Addison Sandhurst burst inside for a bucket. The Knights pulled down three offensive rebounds and finally scored, but Kortuem closed out the half with a free basket for a 10-6 Clipper lead at the break.

Blair Voit grabbed a defensive rebound and ran it down court for the first basket of the second half and then found Brylee Kortuem near the free throw line. Kortuem cashed in for a 14-6 Clipper lead.

The Knights responded with an outside basket, but Anistyn Dauk and Sandhurst each put in an outside shot.

Later, Dauk sank another basket from a distance while the Knights made five of six free shots and rebounded and scored to pull within five, 20-15.

But the Clippers didn’t allow another point while Samuelson scored from near the net, Dauk made a basket from outside, and Voit stole and sprinted in a layup for the game’s final basket.

Dauk totaled six points. Voit, Samuelson and Sandhurst each had four points. Kenzie Kortuem had three points. McMillen and Brylee Kortuem each put in a basket. Wobbrock chipped in a free basket.

The Clippers made two of seven foul shots while the Knights were five of six in free throw shooting.

The junior high Clipper girls went on to close out their season with road games at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on February 3, Tri-City United on February 5 and St. Clair on February 9.
