Kindergarten was a blast. It went so fast.
We had so much fun. And we learned so much,
like our ABCs and 123s.
Next year’s gonna be a breeze.
Thirty nine members of the class of 2038 closed one chapter and stated another on May 22 when they graduated from Tonja Baker and Karin Miller’s kindergarten classes.
“The ceremony began with a procession onto the stage in the new gym and remarks by elementary principal Scott Lusk.
“This is an exciting milestone, and I cannot wait to see what these students will do in the future. Their smiles, energy, curiosity and creativity remind us every day why education is so important.”
Lusk thanked the kindergarteners’ families for trusting the school with their children.
“We know how important and precious they are, and it has been a true provide to watch them learn, grow and shine each day. Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Miller have been lucky to work with your children. This year they learned so much, from reading and counting to making friends, showing kindness and building self-confidence.”
“The kids were amazing,” Baker said. “We feel blessed.”
Before receiving their diplomas, the students performed songs and watched a slideshow of the year’s highlights (photo above).
Afterwards, the crowd moved to the school front lawn where Miller’s class released butterflies they had raised.
Families were treated to several songs by the kindergarteners, including “Kindergarten March,” “Milkshake,” “Wobbly Man” and “We’re going to 1st Grade” (sung to the tune of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” and quoted above).
Each student wore a paper mortarboard.
Principal Scott Lusk congratulated each student.
Karin Miller’s class released in the school front lawn butterflies it raised.
