Trap shooters

John Ritchie took third among junior varsity trap shooters at the June 18 session of the state trap shooting championship. The event was held in Alexandria from June 15-23.

The Clippers competed against other teams that participated on June 18. Ten made the trip.

Ritchie, a freshman, knocked down 88 of 100 targets. The first and second-place JV finishers each shot an 89.

Each athlete shot four rounds of 25 targets each, two rounds per session. With a 92, freshman Blake Stocker led the five Clipper varsity shooters. With an 84, eighth grader Braydon Tousley was first among the Clippers’ two novices.

Stocker and Ritchie both scored a perfect 25 in the second session.
