By capturing 1st Place at the Minnesota B.A.S.S Fishing Junior State Championship on July 17, brothers Logan Baker (grade 8, left) and Liam Baker (grade 6, right) will represent Cleveland School at the 2027 Junior Pro Fishing National Tournament, which will be held in July 2027.
With an impressive 16.28-pound bag (maximum five large or smallmouth bass, minimum 12 inches), the siblings put together an outstanding performance on Lake Pokegama in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to claim the state championship. Their catch finished exactly one pound ahead of the second-place team.
The Clipper anglers earned their spot in the State Championship by placing 9th of 23 teams at the qualifying tournament on Waterville’s Lake Tetonka on June 15. A total of 43 of the 50 qualifying teams from all five qualifying tournaments traveled to Grand Rapids to compete for the state title.
The Baker brothers are looking forward to continuing their success throughout the 2027 season and are excited for the opportunity to represent Cleveland School on the national stage next July.
