Sleepy Eye was no match for the JV girls on Tuesday in a 2-0 home sweep.
The Clippers posted the first 10 points of game one. Three of them came from Hadley Thompson serves. A Cheyenne Lotspeich ace serve ended the game 25-11.
Natalie Flowers spiked the first Clipper winner in game two to start a 5-point surge and deadlock the score 5-5. From there, Valentina Rohlfing airmailed a trio of ace serves, and the Clippers never looked back.
With her team in front 9-6, Ava Kluntz slammed a kill to start a 10-point run, which featured five Flowers service aces.
The game ended 25-9 when the Storm couldn’t manufacture a return.
Flowers hammered seven kills. Kenzie Kortuem sent down five kills. Sierra Lotspeich and Anna Lamont each hit for three winners. Kluntz had two kills, and Brooke Bosse had one kill.
Thompson set up 20 points. Cheyenne Lotspeich had one set assist.
Sierra Lotspeich and Thompson each had three digs. Lamont had 11 digs. Flowers and Cheyenne Lotspeich each had seven digs. Rohlfing and Kortuem each scooped two digs.
Rohlfing dished up seven ace serves. Flower dispatched five ace serves. Thompson served for four aces. Sierra Lotspeich had two aces. Cheyenne Lotspeich had one ace serve.
The JV girls host Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial tonight (Tuesday).
