Continuing their unbeaten streak, which had included nine matches plus a season-opening tournament, the eighth-grade volleyball girls dominated visiting Le Sueur-Henderson on Thursday, 25-8, 25-10.
The seventh graders, who have one loss this season (to LCWM), also swept the Giants.
Kaylee Struck coached both matches.
Down the stretch in the eighth graders’ game one, Olivia Olson and Blair Voit dished up ace serves, and Voit and Emmy Miller added points on kills.
Jacquelyn Heldberg swung for a kill and stretched for an ace block for the first two points of game two. Another Voit kill put the Clippers in front 5-3, and after a Brylee Kortuem ace serve, the Clippers led 7-3.
From there, Voit hit another winner, and Sophia Walser got into the action with an ace tip (above) and a kill for an 11-4 Clipper advantage.
Later, Voit hammered down another winner, Walser served and ace, and Heldberg tipped down a point. With the Clippers comfortably in front 19-9, Brienna Groebner sent a left-side hit down the line for a point, Voit followed with an ace serve, and the Clippers cruised to the triumph.
On front 22-14 in game one after a couple of Kennedy Dauk ace serves, the seventh graders lost the next five points, all on their own errors, before Ruby Page’s push into an open spot of Giant floor got them back on track.
A line infraction cost the Clippers the next point, but the Giants errored twice from there for the 25-20 Clipper win.
With a couple of Brooklyn Berg service aces in the mix, the Clippers jumped out to a 5-0 start in game two, never looked back and won 25-5.
