When it comes to his job description, elementary principal Scott Lusk said getting slimed and sprayed with silly string, a student reward for meeting their Walkathon fundraising goals, falls into the category “other duties as assigned.”
But Lusk bore the task with a sense of humor this morning in front of the entire elementary student body and its teachers, all reveling in the messy and memorable fun.
The sliming ceremony took place in the new gym before the Halloween Dance Party. A quartet of students and teacher Clara Lynch took turns coating Lusk with a bucket of neon yellow slime. Afterwards, he was a target for another gang of kids, all armed with cans of silly string.
Later, as Lusk headed to the showers, the costumed kids and teachers enjoyed the dance party, with follow-along dance videos on the jumbotron, before returning to their classrooms.
