Adding another victory to their undefeated season, the seventh grade volleyball girls downed visiting Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman 2-1 on Thursday.
“We’re about five weeks in, and it’s fun seeing the girls make progress and especially fun in our brand-new gym and in front of the home crowd,” said coach Cassidy Kopet. “They come off with a higher energy for sure when they play at home.”
Game one started with a pair of Maile Meissner service aces and finished 25-12 after a missed serve.
Firing ace serves in game two, the Clippers won 25-15.
“I was really impressed with Keira Schipper tonight. She did a great job playing the net,” Kopet said. “It’s fun watch these girls being able to see the court when they’re up in the air. A shout out to Kaitlyn Flowers too and her serving,”
Amelia Chmiel opened game three with a service ace, and the Clippers won the practice round 15-11.
The seventh grade girls are back in action next Tuesday when they travel to Mankato Loyola. On Thursday, they take another road trip, this time to Alden.
