For the eighth-grade volleyball team, Tuesday’s win over visiting Nicollet was all about the ace.

If the Clippers got a serve into Nicollet airspace, and most of the time they did, chances were the young Raiders wouldn’t be able to field it cleanly.

The Clippers won easily, 25-11, 25-8, 25-11.

A standout from the service line was Isabel Duron, said coach Amber Haack.

“Isabel just rocked the serving tonight,”

Haack also pointed to the play of Haddie Jobe and Delaney Thompson.

“Anywhere on the court, they went for the ball. It didn’t matter where.”

Earlier in the afternoon, the seventh graders also beat Nicollet in three sets.

Thursday, the Clipper junior high teams entertain Madelia. They seventh graders host a tournament on Saturday while the eighth graders travel to Granada.
