Baskets were few and far between for the eighth-grade girls on Monday when visiting Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman came to town for a 26-11 triumph.

But in the earlier game, the seventh-grade girls topped the Jaguars 34-15.

Kiera Schipper (above) had nine points as did Delaney Thompson. Haddie Jobe posted eight points. Kaitlyn Flowers had four points. Taylor Wolf chipped in four points.

Mollie Bowman drove the baseline for the first basket in the next game. She scored again from a little farther out to put the Clippers up 4-2.

But the Jaguars went on the steal after that and scored the next five points before Jobe made the front end of a one-and-one. Later in the half, Sierra McCabe put in a jumper from the free-throw area, but the Clippers were down 15-7 at the intermission.

Bowman scored twice late in the second half.

The junior high Clippers are back in action today (Monday) when they travel to Nicollet.
