Martin Gibbs shooting

The weatherman saved the best for last for the Cleveland trap team on Wednesday as the Clippers finished their regular season with comfortable temps and only a little breeze at the Caribou Gun Club.

With the seasonable weather came higher scores. The average was just shy of 36, up almost four points from a week ago.

“Every week the weather changes,” said junior Martin Gibbs (shooting above). “They adjust the pitch of the thrower, so it is lower than last week, so it was a bit harder. It’s just a whole new experience every time you come out.”

Eighth grader Kaden Schmidt’s 47 was his season record. Senior Riley Tomaszewski shot a 45 for his season best. For the third week in a row, Kolby Gens posted a 43.
