Kids by a tractor

Small wheels and big wheels crossed paths on Monday in the school parking lot during ECFE’s Big Wheels Event.

While a pair of colossal, state-of-the art farm tractors were on display, the 20 or so kids attending got to tool around the pavement with their own wheels, bikes, trikes, motorized vehicles and remote-controlled cars.

“They have been able to have free rein of the parking lot and enjoy it,” said ECFE coordinator Ashley Genelin. “A lot of the kids are farm kids, so they don’t get to play on asphalt very often. They’ve been sharing all their toys, so it’s been fun.”

The farm tractors, one red and one green, were supplied by Kevin McCabe and Ryan Ponwith. Kids got to sit inside for a bird’s-eye view.

ECFE holds fun educational events for children and their families throughout the year. Its goal is to strengthen families and support all parents in providing the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children.
