Looking for their second victory this season, the Clipper B boys fell 66-24 to visiting St. Clair on Tuesday.

Coming out with a strong full-court press, the Cyclones scored the first four points before Nathan Strobel put in a jumper. Later, Dakota Alitz made the second of two foul shots, but the Cyclones were already had 11 points.

Brady Bostic sunk two foul shots, Strobel made one, and Bode Bartell (above) drove in for a bucket. As the break was approaching, Jordan Schmidt scored from inside and Bostic stole and scored, but St. Clair had a commanding 39-12 lead at the intermission.

Strobel scored from inside for the first basket of the second half. He put in two more baskets in the frame, and Bartell dropped in three, but that was all the scoring the Clippers could come up with.

Strobel led the Clippers with nine points. Bartell had eight points. Bostic put in a basket from the floor and pair of freebies for four points. Schmidt added two points.  Alitz chipped in a free throw.

The Clippers were four of 13 in free-throw shooting. Cyclones put in four three pointers and were 10 of 25 from the foul line.

The day before, the C boys fell 45-8 to Martin County West in Sherburn. The Mavericks led 32-4 at halftime.

Strobel made a free throw and a basket and Alex Johnson put in a free throw for the Clippers’ first-half points. In the second half, Strobel made the Clippers’ only other basket from the floor. Bartell and Bostic each made a freebie.

The Clippers were four of 11 from the foul line. MCW was made one of eight free-throw attempts.

At Madelia on December 13, the C boys lost 49-17. The Jayhawks led 27-6 at the half. With a three, a two and a freebie, Strobel shot the cycle for all the Clipper first-half points.

In the second half, Alitz contributed four points. Nathan Seeman put in a three. Bostic and Nathan Brink each added two points. 

The Clippers made a pair of threes and were five on nine from the foul line. Madelia made one three and were two of seven in free-throw shooting.

The B boys will be back in action when they travel to Lester Prairie on January 3.
