Addi Holden goes in for a contested shot

After falling to host Martin County West, the B girls left Nicollet on Monday with a 31-12 triumph.

Addi Holden (above) put in three buckets from the floor, Mollie Bowman added a basket, Delaney Thompson made a pair of free shots, and the Clippers led 12-6 at the break.

After a Bowman steal, Holden dropped in a pair of free throws for the first baskets of the second half.

From there, Lacey McCabe went to work off the bench with steals and ensuing layups. Holden took an in-bounds pass up and in, and with an Oliva Reinhardt free shot, the Clippers were up 25-6.

With just under 4 minutes left, the Raiders put in a layup for their first points of the second half.

After that, Thompson scored on a layup and then twisted a Reinhardt handoff up and in. After Nicollet managed a pair of buckets, Bowman scored from underneath at the buzzer.

McCabe and Holden each had 10 points. Thompson added six points. Bowman posted four points. Reinhardt had one point.

The Clippers made half of their 10 free shots.

The Friday before, the B girls fell 27-22 to MCW in Trimont. They trailed 19-10 at the break.

Holden led that effort with a dozen points, six of them from behind the arc. McCabe had five points. Thompson put in a trio of freebies for three points. Bowman chipped in a basket. The Clippers were successful in half of their 12 foul shots.

The Clippers were coming off a 33-25 lost to Faribault BA the day before. They trailed 21-14 at the break.

Holden led that effort with nine points, all from threes. Taylor McCabe added five points with one of her baskets from behind the arc. Bowman made a three-point basket and a freebie for four points. Samantha Baker also had four points. Thompson had three points.

The Clippers made two of four attempts from the free throw line. The Cardinals made two of nine foul shots and had one three.

The B girls host LCWM on Thursday in a 4:30 game.

With steals and subsequent drives and layups, Lacey McCabe took over much of the second half.
