Bode Bartell shot

Just a basket separated the C-squad boys from their first win on Monday when they lost to visiting Butterfield-Odin 31-29.

A day later they fell to host Nicollet 33-14.

With a three and a pair of twos, Bode Bartell scored seven points in the first half against Butterfield-Odin. Nathan Seeman put in a basket, and Mason Kluntz sunk a pair of freebees for an 11-11 stalemate at halftime.

Bartell equaled his first-half efforts after the break and added a free shot too. Elijah Mons put in a pair of baskets from the floor, Seeman and Gavin Karels each scored on a bucket, and Kluntz put in two more free shots.

The Warriors hit a layup with 7 seconds remaining. The Clippers got the ball across mid court, where Kluntz put up a prayer, but it was off the mark.

Bartell led the effort with 15 points, including a pair of threes. Kluntz, Seeman and Mons each contributed four points. Karels had two points.

The Clippers made half of their 10 foul shots. The Warriors, who hope to join the Valley Conference, put in a trio of threes and missed all four of their free-throw attempts.

The Raiders led 21-6 at the break. All of Cleveland’s first-half scoring came from a pair of Bartell threes.

Karels put in a three and a two in the second half. Mons added a basket, and Kluntz put in a free shot to account for the Clippers’ eight points.

The Clippers made one of two foul shots. The Raiders did not go to the free-throw line. They put in two threes, one less than Cleveland.

The Clippers are back in action today (Friday), when they take on visiting Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther at 4:30 pm.
