Nathan Seeman layup

Although they outscored visiting Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther 18-8 in the second half, the C-squad boys only managed just two points in the first half and fell to the Jaguars 28-20 on Friday.

With the Clippers trailing 17 to zip, Bode Bartell ended the drought when he hit a layup with a minute and a half left before the break. The Jaguars led 20-2 at the halftime.

The Clippers missed 10 free shots in the first half.

With Mason Kluntz on the assist, Bartell put in another layup for the first basket of the second half. The Jags stole and scored, but Bartell hurled the ball down court to aid Kluntz on a layup for Cleveland points five and six.

Gavin Karels made the first of two free shots, but the Jaguars hit two from the foul line and a three to extend their lead, 26-7.

But the rest of the game was all Clippers. Nathan Brink stole and assisted Nathan Seeman (above) with a layup and then put in a jumper himself.

Seeman took a downcourt Kluntz pass in for a basket and scored again when he picked up a loose ball and scored from the baseline. Kluntz scored on a layup.

The Jaguars added a foul shot, but Seeman plopped in a three pointer with a little over four minutes remaining. That was all the scoring though, and the Jaguars held on for the victory.

Seeman led the effort with nine points. Kluntz and Bartell each added four points. Brink had two points, and Karels chipped in one point.

The Clippers could have won the game at the foul line, where they made just one of 14. The Jaguars made a trio of three pointers and were five of 11 in free shots.

The C boys travel to Lester Prairie on Monday for a 4:45 contest.
