8th grade team

Winning four of six games, the eighth-grade girls basketball team took a respectable second place at a Valley Conference tournament held in Granada on Saturday.

The Clippers, made up of eighth and seventh graders, started the marathon day by beating Granada-Huntley-East Chain. From there, they avenged a Thursday loss with a big win over Lake Crystal/Wellcome Memorial. But they fell to Martin County West and then to Nicollet.

In bracket play, they avenged their loss to MCW but lost to Nicollet again in the championship game.

The junior high girls return to action on Tuesday when they host St. Clair, a team that they lost to in the final second earlier in the season.
