Gavin Karels drive

Visiting Alden-Conger rolled big over the B-squad boys on Thursday, 60-19.

The Knights posted the first 16 points. Nathan Strobel broke up the run after pulling down an offensive rebound at with 6:00 to go before the break. 

Later in the half, Carson Lyons put an offensive rebound back up for a basket, and Alex Johnson made a pair of free throws, but that was it for the Clippers in the half, and they trailed 29-6.

Alden-Conger scored the first 10 points of the second half. Gavin Karels (on the drive above) broke up the run with a pair of made free shots. Johnson spun in for a bucket, Karels drove in a layup, and Mason Kluntz rebounded and scored. Karels made a free throw, but the Knights still led 48-15.

Jordan Schmidt rebounded and scored from the baseline for the last Clipper points.

Karels led Cleveland’s effort with seven points. Johnson had four points. Lyons, Strobel, Kluntz and Schmidt each contributed two points.

Cleveland made five of eight free throw attempts. The Knights posted eight threes and were three for eight from the foul line.

The B-squad is back in action today (Friday) when they host Martin County West.
