Dear Parents and Guardians,
We’ve recently received questions about extra charges showing up on student lunch accounts, so we want to clarify how our Free Breakfast Program works.
Every student may receive one free breakfast each day, which includes:
1 grain (cereal, donut balls, long john, pizza, etc.)
1 fruit (students may take more than one fruit at no charge)
1 juice
1 milk
However, any items taken beyond the free meal will result in a charge to the student’s account. These extra charges include:
Extra milk: $0.80
Extra juice: $0.75
Extra grain or a second full breakfast: $5.00
Example: Many students take more than 1 long john, OR they take a long john AND cereal. These will result in an extra grain charge.
Please remind your student that taking additional food items outside of the free meal components will add a cost to their account. We hope this helps clear up any confusion and ensures families are aware of how charges may occur.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your support!

It's National FFA Week! Fun fact: this year MN is celebrating 100 years of FFA! Today's dress up day is camo/hunting orange. Tomorrow's dress up day is, dress like a farm animal. Our FFA activity of the day is an FFA emblem scavenger hunt in the high school areas only. If you find one bring it to Ms. Kuehl's room for a prize. Please note, this does not include emblems on students' lockers. Do you think you have the biggest, rustiest, or oldest truck? How about the most classic car in the parkig lot? Sign up for FFA truck judging outside of Mr. Atherton's room.
Juniors- Please meet in Mr. Atherton's room today during lunch. Grab your lunch and come on up!

Important Safety Update: Recent Activity at Cleveland Public School
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to share some information regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle near the Cleveland Public School Playground today. We know that when children come home talking about police presence or "suspicious cars," it can cause natural concern. I want to provide you with the facts and reassure you that our students remained safe throughout the encounter.
During outdoor recess, an observant staff member noticed a vehicle driving slowly past the playground, turning around, and passing by a second time. Following our safety protocols, the staff member immediately reported the vehicle’s description and license plate to both the District Office and local law enforcement.
Law enforcement responded quickly and conducted a traffic stop. After speaking with the occupants, officers determined that the individuals were parents of students in our district. They had recently dropped off one child and were simply attempting to catch a glimpse of their other child playing on the playground before leaving.
While their intentions were harmless, we are incredibly proud of our staff for their "see something, say something" vigilance. At no point were any students in danger.
Our Commitment to Safety
We take every report seriously. Today’s event was a successful test of our communication chain and our partnership with local police. We would much rather investigate a well-intentioned parent than overlook a potential concern.
Talking to Your Child
Your child may mention seeing a car or the police today. We encourage you to use this as a moment to reinforce that:
- Their teachers and school staff are always looking out for them.
-The police are our partners in keeping the community safe.
-The situation was resolved quickly, and everyone is safe.
Thank you for your continued support and for trusting us with your children’s safety.
